So I’ve got an Idea

Not just an idea, my friends, but an “Idea”. Actually, me & coolio galpal had it, and we’re talking about how to make it come to life. The mutual consensus is that this is a goooood “Idea” and we need to work on it. In fact, if we had $100K dropped into our laps we’d quit our gigs and work on this right away.
OK - not $100K - we’ve actually got a rough plan for $100K. But $.5M? We’d definitely quit the jobs and make this thing go.
The thing is - it’s a rather obvious idea. I don’t think we’re leaps and bounds ahead of the world in genius terms. This is a thing that at least ten other people are working on, and maybe ten thousand.
But I think we might be slightly ahead, and we might have the edge in terms of approaching it from a web application POV, and not from the other side of the coin. Which is more a physical world product thing.
But I do feel like I’m running around on a windy night with a winning lotto ticket I haven’t signed yet. It could blow away at any minute, and me whinging about how it was mine, it really was! and I just didn’t get around to it fast enough won’t cut the butter in a year. Or six months.
So now it’s a matter of learning everything I can about startup funding ASAP. I mean, I’ve worked at them before, plenty. But I’ve never had to, you know, build one from the ground up.
It’s been fun so far. And terrifying. Not in the “I’m scared to do this” kinda way. In the even more terrifying “I’m scared not to do this” or more accurately “I have to make this thing happen in the world or I will regret it for the rest of my life” kind of way. I’d never known how exhilaratingly, maddeningly terrifying that feeling can be.
….And we’re back

So, those who have been paying attention (nobody, I’m sure) have noticed that this site has gone through a number of incarnations. I’ve finally switched this domain to my other host (DreamHost - amazing) and have newly installed WordPress.
The thing is, I don’t know what I’ll do with this site - if anything. I’m notoriously bad at blogging, as I feel like there are too many little conflicting parts of myself that don’t always think or say the same thing. And they often are ribald to the point of being censor-worthy.
So if you’re a glutton for punishment, stay tuned and watch this space….
